PUPPY INFORMATION

At Emery ranch we aim to go above and beyond in everything we do for producing the best dogs to better the breed we are producing. Our average puppy price is $3,000 for a 10 week old puppy. We can keep a puppy up to 12 weeks if requested.

All of our puppies or dogs are sold on limited registration, which means you do not have the right to breed your dog. No dog can be bred until they have our approval and then full AKC registration will be granted at no additional cost. Any puppies produced without our approval can be legally confiscated per our contract, and are not registerable for an AKC pedigree. The agreements on your contract must be met first. The dogs must be fully health tested which for GSDs this includes thyroid blood testing to OFA, OFA Hips, OFA elbows, OFA patellas, OFA basic cardiac exam, OFA eye exam and a full embark genetic screening. The dog must also have a working title minimum to IGP1, PSA, ect. If wanting to do another sport it must be approved to be considered a working title by Emery Ranch. Yes it seems like a lot, but this is what is recommended to not produce puppies with preventable genetic issues and that continue to keep the highest of standards for future breeding stock. To be considered of breeding quality, a dog must be completely solid genetically, structurally, environmentally, with a sound mind and have the workability for a working breed.

Our puppies are raised with Neonate ENS/ESI and temperament tested for placement through the Volhard temperament test and evaluated for sport/protection homes as well.

“ESI has contributed to our dogs’ successes in hunt tests and field trials, nosework, search and rescue work, obedience, tracking and more. One of our dogs holds the record for the youngest golden retriever to pass the Variable Surface Tracking test at only 16 months of age. Most recently, we were selected as the AKC Breeder of the Year for Tracking.

Other breeders are having equally good results with their pups, resulting in excellent performance as Search and Rescue and detection dogs, as well as speed and confidence in every sport involving scenting, from nosework to barn hunt. Pet puppies also benefit from this simple stimulation and many breeders said they have seen improvements in confidence and stability in their pet and service dogs.

Research in dogs shows that scent work has an additional benefit for our dogs. Dogs that are taught and engage in scenting have a more optimistic attitude toward life and with that, fewer behavior problems. Check out our blog on this research here.”
